Dear family,
Happy new year!! It's crazy that it is 2015, time goes too fast!! We had a pretty slow week this one, it started out good, we did the gorge walk with elder morris and that was cool, in the Manawatu gorge by palmy. Yeah not a lot of people were around this week, or they were busy with the holidays and such, so we kinda had to bum around a lot but still were able to talk to some good people. We got a ton of member referrals, and contacted a guy named Jacob with this huge American bulldog, he was super keen for the gospel, knows the roches, loves the church, and just an all around awesome guy!! We are meeting with him on Wednesday.
New Years week was really hot!! I got burned pretty bad on New Years eve, we were out all day in the heat and I forgot to put sunscreen on, sorry! :/ I have remembered every day since then, but it was pretty bad. Just my face and a bit of my arms luckily. Sister morris gets on my case when I forget too, she knows you do as well haha :P
our members had this big as tractor tire in their yard, and they are going to use it for a garden in the future, but for now we are borrowing it to use for morning exercise. We are doing flips with it, and man is it huge! It's a good workout, my forearms are super sore! We had some good member contact still, great referral system we are using now, it's for our zone theme, out of the darkness. Using the members to bring those in darkness out and into the light. From Matthew 4:16.
Just an awesome week though, I still liked it, had a great meal with the roches last night as well, and sister Morris made a beautiful cheesecake. She uses digestive cookies instead of graham crackers because they don't have graham crackers here. It's lame, but the cookies make do. Our members are awesome, the town was really nice during New Years, maybe because the brethren were all drunk, we hear they are on the alcohol a lot. Weird beliefs them. All is well in the New Zealand though, still love it! Hope you survive one o clock church, worst time ever invented, in my opinion, but hey, gotta get spiritual nourishment somehow. :) love you guys!
