February 22, 2015

Dear Family,

Thank you thank you thank you! I think my birthday will be pretty good, hanging out with some members and having a dinner with an investigator, should be pretty good! I have no idea where it all went, but I am glad I spent it the way I did to be able to be here and now in New Zealand. It's awesome!! I will watch for it, thank you in advance!

The FHE with Ben and Ashley didn't work out, they don't want to have the baby around all the kids I guess, we wanted to do it at the Tinifu's and there's a lot of kids, so it makes sense. We might be able to do it at their house and then have dinner after at the Tinifu's at least that's what Sister Tinifu said, so I hope that works out, we need to follow up with them this week.
The wedding was for investigators in Dannevirke, it was really good. It was my 2nd wedding on the mission so far. One in my first area and then that one.

This week was good, really good actually, nothing too extravagant, but it was great! We had exchanges with the Elders in Dannevirke, I went to Dannevirke and Elder Whitelock and I had adventures with their neighbors cat which I am uploading, and also visits with members and such, it went very well. The cats name is Fanta but Elder Whitelock called it Carrie. it was pretty fun.
The Area Presidency had an area training that we were invited to go to about working with members, it was awesome, but, our ride forgot us....President Morris had forgotten to pick us up, and so we were left to our own devices, which was okay because we had planning to do, but, it was lame, because we heard the meeting was awesome! We were so depressed....so sad.....but oh well.
We had a member baptism, it was a child of a less active family and they have been coming to church ever since the few weeks before and now after her baptism, so we are really hoping it stays. It was a big push to get them here, but now we need to help them stay strong!

We had a visit with President Morris at Mary's, she had read the Plan of Salvation pamphlet we had given her and picked it apart! She had questions on every page, and some were a bit harder than I had expected. The part that talks about Satan and how he is miserable and wants all of us to be miserable was a hard one, she said because she teaches History it made her think it was propaganda, and so we told her it was just to show that without opposition we wouldn't know good from bad. Most of her other questions were basically normal, what happens to kids that die, typical Book of Mormon answered stuff. It was really good to help her with that, and she said we could come next week and teach again, so we are still doing good.

Last night at the Roche's we met their son Shaun who had come over from Ozzie with his wife and daughter, they are really nice. Sister Roche told us to invite Jake over to catch up with Shaun and stuff, but he said he was already caught up, so we then invited Mary and Cheyenne, and they said they would talk about it but didn't come. But Jake said give him more notice and next week would probably work out better. Sweet! Looking forward to that! Great week, great visits and great members, just love this area, but I'm pretty sure that I'm moved out this next transfer, March like the 13th or something, the second week. Here's to yet another week and then more good things to come! Love you all! Have an awesome week!
Love,
Elder Passey
