January 11, 2015

Dear Family,

another week once again has gone, and what a week this was! I didn't peel too bad, just some on my nose so it was alright. So many great things happened! So on Monday we played Ping Pong with President Morris, he gets bored on Mondays and so he invites us over to do some random stuff. We have a ping pong table at the chapel that I might have mentioned before, and he's actually really good for an old guy! He smoked Elder Savage and I, so that was a good experience I guess!
I sent off the package for your Christmas stuff, hope it all gets there soon enough. Hope the thing fits Jaydon, but especially dad's :/ I wasn't sure about the size. Elder Savage and I gave each other haircuts this week, Elder Savage did a great job on me, but I totally stuffed his up.... It was pretty short, our members gave us their clippers to borrow and they had like a 1/3 inch one, and then an 1/8 inch one, no in between. So Elder Savage said do it short, and it was pretty short...but hope it grows more by Wednesday when we have interviews with President.

So we met with Jacob this week, and he is the man! His wife is a less active member, but really keen to be doing the right things and coming back we assume as of now, she basically just hasn't been since she moved here because she din't know anyone and didn't want to go alone, but they are both awesome!! Just so ready and prepared, we were asking them, how have we never met you guys before? it was so funny! we are great friends with them already, Jake is just the man! His two little girls are so adorable as well! They have a 4 year old and a two year old, both just adorable, and its so funny, the two year old will take her dad's phone, turns on this Maori singer, and she can sing the whole song with it, she gets all into it, closing her eyes, so cute! It was hilarious, we just watched her do it and she just keeps singing! Such a wonderful family, just awesome! That should keep us tied up until Mary and Cheyenne get back the end of this transfer, and we are hoping that I stay here, I hope so bad! We are legitimately thinking about asking President on Wednesday if I can have one more, but then again, we are afraid that that will be just asking to get shifted..... It's worth a shot. I want to stay here sooo bad! And Elder Savage wants to just finish here, he goes home in May or June, so he wants to just finish in a good area. I don't blame him. So another thing about Jacob, he is a pretty culturally sound Maori, in his giving nature, and he happened to give us All-Blacks jerseys! We had mentioned that we had been thinking about it during Christmas and stuff but that they were expensive and we were going to figure something out, and right before we left he handed one to Elder Savage and then got another for me. We told him that we couldn't just take them, but he said it was a gift for coming to their home and for being awesome, we felt kinda bad, but his wife had said that he had played Rugby for a big team a few times, and so he probably has his ways or contacts somehow, but still, those things are expensive! We really tried to say no, we feel bad when people give us things, but he wanted us to have them. How are people so nice? It amazes me that we have never met this guy before! He wants to do a big meeting/meal/FHE with the Roches and Paynes because he grew up with their kids, and so we told them about it and they are super keen as well! We shared our little Out of the Darkness thing with them and shared the Restoration, I just love that lesson, it was so awesome! The Roches and the Paynes are the best! We had a fast with them on Saturday night and Sunday for Jacob so that we will be able to do the FHE thing, that was great! Jacob turned out to be busy but we will do more planning for it. Jacob and Joanna and family were the highlight of the week for sure!
We biked to Woodville, did lots of service with the Grey's, the oldest members in our branch. We cleaned up their house a lot and helped them do some gardening, they have a huge section and Brother Grey is getting pretty old and physically unable to do it all himself. Just an awesome week though, awesome! I love it here so much, don't wanna leave, just so great! Hope you all had a great week, love you all!
Elder Passey
